Traditionally it has been difficult to get an idea of how our lilies will look and smell when they are bought, as to increase the vase life and to prevent the flowers getting damaged in transit the blooms are sold in bud. We have been working in partnership with Waitrose over a number of years to help customers make a more informed choice about their lily purchase.

Floral fragrance expert Dr Hazel Mac Tavish-West and perfumier Dr John Heffernan worked together understand to recreate the fragrance of two popular oriental lily varieties, Robina and Manissa. The perfume was then transferred onto labels detailing how the flower will look and smell when it is open, all you have to do is scratch the label to reveal the scent.
