The
Winchester Growers management training programme is a two year
career development scheme. It comprises of four practical real
job secondments each lasting six months within our growing and
technical departments, with the opportunity to secure a professional
post on completion.
What we offer
Our graduate scheme is built around the individual, providing
a grounding in the industry across a range of roles. The scheme
will be tailored to interests, aptitude and business need, with
a focus on growing. Some of the placements include growing and
harvesting crops, quality assurance, trials and development,
business analysis and planning. The secondments will be based
across our 3 sites in Spalding, Cornwall and Portugal.
Salary
£20k per annum
(Travel expenses to remote sites will be paid and accommodation
will be subsidised when working away from base).
Who can apply?
The scheme is open to candidates of HND/graduate calibre, who
have preferably studied horticulture, agriculture, applied biology
or other related subjects. An interest in ornamental horticulture
is necessary and practical farming or growing experience would
also be advantageous. Candidates must show a practical, hands-on
approach and an ability to work with, and through, others.
